The tenants of the Incubator include: BCOG Planning Associates, in suite 202, a multi-disciplinary strategic planning, market research and community economic development business that provides consulting services to non-profit and private sector organizations, as well as to government agencies. The business was founded in 2001 by Darrell A. Lee, a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management. The Big Picture Company, in suites 103 and 104, is a non-profit education organization in Providence, Rhode Island , dedicated to a fundamental rethinking of schooling in the United States . Founded in 1995, the organization’s mission is to catalyze vital changes in American education by generating and sustaining innovative, personalized schools. As of September 2004, The Big Picture has opened Big Picture Schools in California , Colorado , Indianapolis, Illinois , and Michigan. Over the next five years, we will oversee the opening of thirty additional schools based on the Big Picture philosophy. The Managing Director is Martha Cook. Compassionate Health Care, in suite 203, a staffing service that places nurses and certified nursing assistants in area hospitals and nursing homes. The company has several long-term contracts with area facilities. The company employs three managers and works with a pool of 20 to 25 healthcare professionals. Company CEO is Donna O'Connor. Flagship Staffing Services, in Suite 207, is a full service staffing firm providing the following staffing options to its clients: Temporary, Temporary to Hire, Contract and Direct Hire. Flagship’s Service Divisions include: Administrative/Office, Light Industrial, Professional, Finance, Marketing, Payrolling Solutions Program and Staffing Consulting Services. Susan A. Fabrizio, its President/Owner, founded flagship Staffing Services in 2003 and the staff has over forty years combined experience in the staffing industry. Glimpse Foundation, in suite 201, a nonprofit organization which works to promote global understanding for the peoples and cultures of the world. The company produces printed materials, online resources, and conferences to promote deeper international understanding. The Foundation has three employees. The president and publisher is Nicholas Fitzhugh. National Neighborhood Day, in suite 203A, is an emerging national nonprofit organization established to recognize the neighbor relationships that build the fabric of vibrant, sustainable communities. Founded by Lorne Adrian, a Providence entrepreneur and social activist, National Neighborhood Day hopes to inspire individuals to host gatherings on the second Sunday each September. Neighbors knowing one another create the foundation for effective communities and effective communities foster a collective strength that benefits our nation as a whole. Barbara Link is the Chief Executive Officer of National Neighborhood Day. Partners, in suite 208, is a consulting business that focuses on providing organizational management services to a variety of clients in the profit and non-profit sectors. Principals of company include Marianne A. Cocchini, Jennifer Davis Allison, Harriet Eiter, and Kathy Jellison. People's Power & Light, in suite 201A, is Rhode Island's non-profit energy company, working to make energy more affordable and to reduce the environmental impacts of energy through energy efficiency, renewable energy, and cooperative buying power. People's Power & Light offers New England GreenStart, an electricity option that allows Rhode Islanders to get their electricity from sun, wind, and fish-friendly hydroelectric plants (see www.GreenStart.net). People's Power & Light also operates a heating oil buyers' group that enables heating oil consumers to save money on their heating bill, and works to advance wind and solar energy projects around the state. Executive Director is Erich Stephens. Providence Local Learning Partnership (LLP), in suite 206, is dedicated to connecting residents and organizations with information and education to build leadership, increase equity and improve the lives of children and families in Providence's West End, South Side and Elmwood neighborhoods. The LLP is a component of Making Connections Providence, a comprehensive community improvement initiative funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The program Manager is Bert Cooper. Providence Police Department, in suite 105, operates a substation that serves the resident and organizations of District 2 (upper and lower South Providence). Headed by Lt. Steve Melagrano and assisted by Phyllis Johnson, this was the first of nine new substations to be opened across the city by Mayor David Cicilline and Police Chief Dean Esserman in 2003. RC&D Inc., in suite 205, provides specialized construction services, equipment and personnel for the environmental restoration market and related land development in New England. Principals of company are David Egan and Mike Rose. RC&D will operate as a HUBZone business under the Small Business Administration HUBZone program. Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education (RISE), in Suite 004, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities and mentoring to children of incarcerated parents in order to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty, crime and addiction that plagues too many families in our state. RISE was founded in 1997 with an initial class of 22 students. Today there are 140 children receiving RISE scholarships and/or working with volunteer mentors.
